50/70 baseball is for boys and girls, league aged 12 and 13.
There is a tryout and draft to set teams. Players are not guaranteed to be with specific teammates / coaches.
The season will consist of 10-12 games, with a combined 2-3 practices/games per week. 50/70 uses a 50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot base path. Here, players are introduced to new baseball fundamentals like leadoffs and live pickoffs. The goal of 50/70 is to provide a natural progression and build confidence as a player transitions from Little League to the rules and 60/90 dimensions of Juniors and high school.
The 50/70 division plays an inter-league schedule against other Little Leagues. These games can be away from McAllister Park. There may be additional costs to secure a practice location, batting cages, etc. You will receive this information directly from your coach once your child is drafted to a team. If these (or registration costs) fees create an issue, please reach out to league leadership, or your child’s coach to discuss scholarship opportunities.
The spring season will feature a regular season as well as a post-season tournament. Additionally, during the spring season the top teams will have the opportunity to play in a City Tournament and top players will have the opportunity to play in the All-Stars tournament, both in June.
Required Equipment
The 50/70 division allows only USA Baseball or BBCOR stamped bats. USSSA bats are NOT allowed.
Players are expected to have their own glove and batting helmet.
Molded rubber or metal cleats are strongly encouraged.
